The sky broke like an egg and the water caught fire
- Pamela Hansford Johnson
Last week Deepak told me that my sunsets were getting boring and their quality was deteriorating so hopefully this shot will make him change his mind. This shot was again taken at Skye (all the sunset shots I've shown you till now were taken at the same place in the time period of 1.5 hrs). It's slightly different because I managed to get this nice sailboat in. Also, I never saturate images like these because I know how easily they can get spoilt easily that way. What you see is an ingenious (very modest!) combination of curves and a warming filter.

Anyway, this sunset is for another week gone by. Weather forecasters predict a pleasant weekend up ahead (my mood depends on the weather too much) so it's going to be another one with the sun (and hopefully, me) smiling. Have a great one and be sure to make the most of it!!!

Whoa Sam chill out with the Saturation! Pushed it over this time, too red too too red.
Samarth: like i said, not saturated - curves+ filter...but i see your point....
Hi Sam, sorry i am behind with my comments. Not sure about this one, I think the warmup filter has pushed it over the top. I like my sunsets au naturel! I missed a cracker last night, story of my life.
Samarth: guess i got carried away..will definitely try to tone down next time...thanks a lot alistair....
p.s. sorry about the sunset, dont tell me dave caught it....

Bit too much with the filter Samarth, nice composition though.
Samarth: yes sir, chris sir...thanks a lot...
Nice composition - Framing's perfect - A little bit too much with color but it's subjective smile
Samarth: thanks zebigleb...no, its not subjective, u guys are right..its a bit too much...

Uhmmm...divided on this one.
An interesting composition, like the portrait frame. Though, I think it might have been more effective were it a wider shot.
Samarth: goodie, a criticism other than the filter use....i see ur point deji, but prob is tht i wanted the cloud in as well...

I'd love to see what this looked like before the curves & filter. The composition is spot on, but I'm with everyone else on this one, its pushed a little too far.
Samarth: sorry gavin, will do better next time...i see u guys' points, it is a bit too much..

This shot has surely made me change my mind. Like u said last time, u wanted 2 add more of orange n red in ur sunsets, n u hv done it in a good way, but yet too much of colours. U mentioned on top that u dont like to saturate sunsets, but dont u think u r contradicting wht u hv done in ur pic.
The clouds on top look like "sky's hair". Am i not too becoming a philosopher like u?? wink
Anyways, it a good pic, well shot!
Points - 8/10
Coolness Thing - RED
Samarth: no, no...saturation is different....its a different concept in photoshop....but i wll tone it down...

Too much warming for my taste, unless I was decorating a room that needed that bold of colours. Love the siloutte of the boat against the sky.
Samarth: alrighty, we shall say that you are decorating such a rome and then ill take it as a compliment grin.....but seriously, i get your point, will mellow it down next time...thanks a lot ana...

Why have u changed from black to white?? Or is it just my comp.
Samarth: nope...ive changed...read tomorrows post for the explanantion...
wow..love the vivid color here....great work!
Samarth: Glad you like it Poramit...thanks a lot for dropping by....
Probably outnumbered here and though I agree its obvious this has been heavily touched up, I like it a lot, that deep orange tone works for me.
Samarth: It's alright, I'm on the same side as you are wink....thanks ayash...
