photoblog image Geometricity

Geometricity

All you ever wanted to be
Living in perfect symmetry
Nothing is as down or as up, as us

You see the world in black and white
Not painted bright
You see no meaning to your life
You should try
You should try
- 'Low' by Coldplay

Abstract Week : Shot#5

As we approach the end of Abstract Week I'm beginning to think more about these abstract shots from a philosophical view. I turned to Coldplay again for some soulful insights and I came up with the conclusion that this ordinary pavement may mirror the lack of individuality and the complete anonymity in the lives of the people who live in today's metropolises. Are we ever really going to make a difference or just get caught up in  the wave of the similar thousands and forever remain within our social structure, unable to break out of the 'Geometricity'.

Favourite Shot (Saturday) : Lone Tree

Really love this, this works for me, you getting real good at this abstract thin g smile

Suby
Samarth: Glad to hear that.. smile
Sam you sound a little despondent? I know images can often portray powerful messages and I would not want too belittle how you feel about this collection of work but don't let it pull you down. I think you had better choose a jollier theme for next week.

But what of the image, a simple version of yesterdays and simplicity is the key. As I have already said I like what you are doing and the way you are doing it. I look forward to visiting your site
Samarth: just a little down yesterday alistair...back to my regular level of being too lazy to actually think so far ahead wink....glad you liked the shot...

Blimey Samarth, that's deep for someone so young - life is for living young man - keep taking your pictures, enjoy what you are doing, and maybe one day you'll make that difference.

Chris
Samarth: bit too deep...ive regained consciousness thankfully wink....thanks a lot chris..

Samarth. It's a FLOOR. I like it grin Good tone, rich light. Stupidly impressive. Now for some sarcasm :

"shots from a philosophical view"
Oh no....please no...

"turned to Coldplay again for some soulful insights"
What are you desperate? Lights will guide you home.

"that this ordinary pavement may mirror the lack of individuality and the complete anonymity in the lives of the people who live in today's metropolises."
Oh shit, how come I never saw that before, God Im so stupid....

"Are we ever really going to make a difference or just get caught up in the wave of the similar thousands and forever remain within our social structure, unable to break out of the 'Geometricity'."
We're forever going to caught up in the wave of the similar thousands and forever remain within our social structure.

Exit, stage left!
Samarth: grin...alright, alright i get it...im back to normaly now, its just a good photograph to me....

I liked the previous one better. What I do like is the way the pattern in the brick work starts to curve in the frame.
Samarth: Thanks Laurie..

Sorry, I couldn't stop by more often but I like this minimalistic series. While is image might be considered too simple, spot of light and line perspectives make it for me smile
Samarth: Thanks Andriy...im trying to show how simplicity itself can be the most beautiful...

Yesterdays pic was also floor with the same kind of tiles. Why wud u post the same thing again. Anyways, this is not abstract!! sad
Its a nice pic, shows that the road is even, but not smooth, but not for Abstract.
Points - (Only for d pic) 5.5/10
Samarth: its a completely different type of pciture and if u dont think this is abstract, then nothing is..

That is a great question Samarth. I wonder about that often. The only saving grace is the importance we have in the lives of those who matter most to us and we to them.
Samarth: thats true...i guess having people you care about is what matters...

great clarity in the shot sam.

your question may pose a dilemma but i feel that each and every person is important and unique and different. The only thing is, we just see 1000 people walking in a line but each has their own unique story and life which matters to someone who we dont know. Tomorrow on the tube, you may see another twenty ppl who u dont know so we think all of them are the same and they think that we are all the same... its all about anonymity.
Samarth: thanks sid...yup, i guess u are right..

great comp and angle. gives the feeling of this pattern repeating forever into the distance
Samarth: thanks aaron, thats what i was going for...
nice tone and frame. subject too. intense words.
Samarth: thanks a lot nicola...
Its nice, not as good as the previous one. Maybe a little more contrast would make it more interesting smile
Samarth: tried contrast...makes it too sharp...
cool Sam, this is great. Great texture and exposure And I like how the image maintains the black curving line
