photoblog image The Effect of a Candle and a Spoon

The Effect of a Candle and a Spoon

I take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost - that is important.

- Jacques-Henri Lartigue

Loving this creative/arty streak I'm on right now but I have a feeling that I'm probably pushing my luck with this shot.

About the quote - that's something important I've learn from photoblogging and from a few other photographers. It sounds selfish but as long as you create the photo just for yourself you will not only like it but it will turn out better than you think.

Also, I'm working on a super-slow connection so apologies if I haven't visited everyone or if I haven't replied to your comments.

Photo Editing: Lens Distortion, Lomo, Film Grain, Colour Layer, Curves in Photoshop.

Clever! And the quote is spot on too
Samarth: Thank you Paul..
For me I wish that a little magic had happend and this effect was carried all the way down the hall but I have no idea how you do such a thing so very well done for what you have done.

J
Samarth: i wanted the effect to be magnified as well but no idea why it just got stuck up front...

A passage for Round Bottomed Girls (Queen). Interesting the other quote was to remember the 2 people - photographer and viewer - the first could also be the latter. You do what you like, put it up and if the other viewers like it, you and the other viewers like it. Otherwise it is just you who likes it. And what was proven either way? - not a lot I think. Enjoy what you do.

This viewer likes this passageway as it reminds him of other passageways in his life (what happens if you get old).
Samarth: lol, well said..thanks louis...
Something of Twin Peaks here... I love the distorsion we have here.
Samarth: Thanks Florence...

well you've breathed some life into an otherwise ordinary shot, well done
Samarth: Thanks gary...that was more or less my intention...
really really nice experiment..well done!
Samarth: thanks nicola...
Like the toning, grains have help to set a mood. However the distortion is usually all over the image, here it just seems to be in first 2 doors.
Samarth: thanks ashish..no idea how that happened...wanted it to be the full thing but then i began to like the unique effect...

It is a very unique shot and does turn an ordinary hall into a very interesting shot. Like everyone else, curious how it just affect the fron of the shot. Very nicely done and the tone and brightness is all add up to a wonderful shot.
Samarth: Thank you Joe...
