photoblog image Sunrise on the Wing

Sunrise on the Wing

The whole east was flecked
With flashing streaks and shafts of amethyst,
While a light crimson mist
Went up before the mounting luminary,
And all the strips of cloud began to vary
Their hues, and all the zenith seemed to ope
As if to show a cope beyond the cope!

- Epes Sargent, Sunrise at Sea

This one was taken en route to Morocco and If British Airways spent more time cleaning their windows I wouldn't have used such an extreme crop as the dirty spots of the windows wouldn't be clearly visible in the shot. Anyway, I think in the end it works.

Favourite Shot (Yesterday): Pensive
Photo Editing: Curves, Channel Mixer in Photoshop. Crop in Picasa.

I think it works too. As usual the whole package is what makes it. The poetry, the wonderful image, the story. You did well to get this, Sam, I too have problems with the windows on the plane from Oslo to Stockholm.
Respect to you for linking to my shot from yesterday.
Samarth: thanks a lot andrew...that shot more than deserved it...
wow! great colour! I think it works well. Its always cool to look down on clouds too. I'd love to know your quotes secret... they're always so apropos.
Samarth: thanks john...its just hardwork....read through a lot of quotes concerning ur subject until u hit the right one...

Beautiful!
Samarth: Thanks pj...
A serene shot and a poignant piece of poetry. and a good choice of favourite shot.

When it comes to aeroplane shots I am either on the wrong side or over the wing or there is no window!!!
Samarth: thanks a lot alistair....this was my first proper chance to take some onboard shot and i just tried to capitalise on the oppurtunity...

What the hell is up with you!!! I've checked up on this blog like once in 3 weeks or so (sorry... i'm just being honest!) and each time ure like a leap year ahead of the last time! This shot is lke awesome! (coupled with my love for aviation ;-) )... I'm afraid to say, this bright colourful stuff leaves Azhar's monotonous and doomday-like b&w stuff far behind (pl don't forward or copy this comment to him!)... Sorry didn't finish the kayrus story but currently, my comp is confiscated... exams... so... ttly or ttyl, whatever!

Great view! Looks like you had a beautiful flight.
Samarth: thanks micki...admittedly, it was one of my better flights because the view more than made up for the food...
Too good!!
Samarth: Thanks ashish... wink

This shot is really nice. The colors where phenomenal and it does look like a bit of a marketing shot for an airline. Very nicely done!
