You never grow old - you become old by not continuing to grow

Forgive my Photoshop indulgence but this was the perfect type of shot to try something like this.

I found an interesting bit of a Wikipedia article on the VW Beetle and its many names - here.

YELLOW PUNCH BUGGY! (Sorry but that's a big thing with my 7-yr-old grandson!)

This is so totally retro, Sam. And you are so right about the perfect shot for this processing. It's going straight to my Likeys in honor of Nicholas, my g'son. smile
Samarth: grin, thanks ginnie!
I think it works pretty well here.
Samarth: Thank you Laurie...

I'm a bit too young for this photo to bring me back any memories, but I do like the shot! smile

Sam - you continue to out-do yourself...true inspiration. Great shot here, bud! And great post processing, as always. Cheers...

yep, works well for me too!
Samarth: smile...
Hi Sam - you certainly love your PS. I find the shot unsettling and wondered why. I think it is the confusion of visual signals it gives. On the one hand the softness and the sepia say "old photograph", but on the other the bright yellow screams contemporary. Artistically this is an interesting combination and one that could be developed further - in other words you could use it to give meaning. Cheers Mike.
Samarth: well, youve sort of got it right...i did start off by wanting to make it vintage but then decided against it...in that respect it ties into the quote...that beetle is the one thing that doesnt grow old...

Brilliant tribute picture to this only beetle, Photosam. The highly saturated treatment and the duo-colour outcome is breathtaking work.
Samarth: Thank you very much ray...

I don't want to contribute to your head getting too large a head but along with earlier contributors I join them in their congratulations.

You have excelled yourself. This is an excellent piece of work, good subject, imaginative and competent Photoshopping. Well done. Good to see you back in the groove.
Samarth: grin, thanks so much...dont worry, it'll be a looooong while before i get too full of myself...
